Caustic soda flakes, also known as Sodium hydroxide or Caustic soda flakes, are 1 strongly alkaline when dissolved in water. - Appearance: Colorless granules, soluble (easily soluble in water, alcohol and glycerin) - Applications: Sodium hydroxide is used in the bleaching industry, liquid soap, paper production, textile dyeing, water treatment, artificial fiber production, detergents, paints... - Chemical properties: + caustic soda flakes react with organic acids to form its salts and hydrolyze esters + caustic soda flakes react with salts to form into new bases and new salts. - Physical properties: + Caustic soda flakes are colorless crystals. + Specific gravity 2,02. + Quickly absorbs CO2 and water from the air, melts and turns into Soda Ash Light – Na2CO3 + Melting temperature 327,6 ± 0,9 degrees Celsius. Boiling temperature 1388 degrees Celsius. + Easily soluble in water, soluble in alcohol and insoluble in ether. - Storage and preservation: Contain anhydrous Sodium hydroxide in sacks, PP bags with PE layer inside. Stay away from acids and products containing cellulose.
