Applications
Medium soluble in DMF, sparingly soluble in MeOH and insoluble in hydrocarbons. Sulfamic acid is a moderately strong acid, Ka = 1.01 x 10-1, therefore when in solid form it is not hygroscopic and Sulfamic Acid is used as a standard in acid assay (quantitative acid content test). Mainly used as a precursor to sweet tasting compounds.
Safety Notes
When mixing sulfamic acid with clean, warm water in a plastic container, be careful not to mix it in a metal container, wear gloves and goggles in the correct ratio. After mixing the solution, use a plastic brush to scrub the area to be removed, then rinse with clean water. If you want to engrave concrete, or need high cleaning, leave it on 30p then rinse with clean water. When using this product, do not use on polished marble or stone nor on metals that do not require cleaning. Absolutely do not use the product multiple times on the same location, as it has the potential to destroy the product. Avoid storing in places with direct sunlight, especially away from fire sources. If this chemical has not been used up, you need to tie the bag with a string. Keep out of reach of children. Do not reuse product packaging.
